Winded Temple
A downloadable game for Windows
Description
Cut through the winding fog, while gaining new abilities that spin yourself back to life!
Set this temple free from its bounded chains... Or at least, that was supposed to be the full game. 😅
(Scroll to the bottom to download the game, sadlyunfortunately this game is only available as an Windows executable. UE5 does not support web builds.)
Controls
| WASD | Move | |
| Space | Jump | |
| E | Take item | |
| Right-click mouse | "Heal" after obtaining item | |
| Q | Toggle Graphic Settings Menu |
Controls are also displayed right in the game!
(If Graphic Settings seem to have no effect or "stuck", try applying the next option then apply again)
(If the game scene turns too dark either when opening for the first time or after applying Graphic Settings, closing and reopening the .exe will most likely fix it)

Jam review?
This was the first jam I've participated by myself.
I found out about this jam on the third day.
This was a great experience to prioritize what to implement within a limited time budget. Though out of habit, I mostly ended up spending time making internal code maintainable. There were also many attempts experimenting with the Niagara System, and attempts to try making the UE5 renderer be more performant and render more clearly.
This was a great experience to really try the many different options in UE5 in a practical sense, with different rendering clarity and performance results.
There were many other things I wanted to implement, such as connecting mechanical gears to the rotating lever, new abilities as you gain more items, and various enemy types.
Although the current state of this game is just a very small sandbox, the processes I've gained during this game jam gave me many ideas that may complement each other, and I may explore and implement these further in the future.
